Accessibility and WCAG: how OneHourSite applies it
What WCAG AA means for your site, which contrast and structure checks we run automatically, and what you can still improve.
A beautiful site that isn’t usable for everyone isn’t a good site. Accessibility helps visitors with different devices, vision or assistive tech — and it’s increasingly required.
What is WCAG?
WCAG is the international standard. Level AA is the common business target: enough contrast, keyboard use, clear structure and understandable errors.
What OneHourSite does automatically
• Colour contrast — we check primary/secondary text on backgrounds and adjust toward WCAG AA (~4.5:1 for normal text).
• Safe text CSS variables on light sections.
• Semantic sections with real headings.
• Forms with labels and status messages.
• Mobile-ready layouts.
What you still do
Add alt text to uploads, use meaningful button/link labels, pick brand colours that contrast, and don’t rely on colour alone for meaning.
Accessibility is an ongoing practice: platform defaults plus your content choices. Test with keyboard Tab and a contrast checker on your brand colours.
